The GDSI is identified worldwide with 5-design elements namely cellular landscape on the interior, shaped sky (horizontal structure reminiscence of a floating cloud), vertical green (in the form of trees), modular furniture and a brand wall. It required a total investment cost of approximately RM9.5 million.

Hyundai Genesis is the latest Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 rendition

A glance at Hyundai’s newest premium large sedan entails the simplistic, yet harmonious design; representing the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 terminology. At the front, the striking hexagonal grille starts out a dynamic crease accent that runs along the sides of the car and extends to the rear.

The Genesis’ front-end premium highlights include a super sleek fascia, surround DRLs on the Bi-Xenon headlights, LED DRLs, one-piece chrome-accented grille, sculpted hood, and the “Winged Genesis” emblem.

The side of the Genesis gives an obvious long wheelbase impression and is accentuated by more chrome surrounds that add ‘frame-like’ expression to the windows, as well as a chrome panel that extends from the front fender to the rear door. Wheel and tyre sizes of the Genesis consist of 18-inchers and 245/55R18 Hankooks. From the rear, the premium large sedan has a more streamlined motif thanks to the slim six-pronged LED rear combination lights and rectangle exhausts.

Inside, the Hyundai Genesis is all about adopting consistent design details that fully reflect careful consideration of ergonomics and intuitive operation. The cockpit is designed based on the Human Machine Interface (HMI), which allows the driver to intuitively recognize switches and their function for easier control while driving.

Complete comfort is delivered through a combination of a spacious cabin and first-class seating in finished full grain premium Nappa leather. Total interior volume is an impressive 123.0 cubic feet, an advantage over many of the competitors’ large sedans. As part of this spacious interior design, the Genesis provides best-in-class front leg room and rear shoulder room. Driver and passenger posture are optimized using increased seat pad density, improved seat support technology, larger adjustable bolsters and seat back cushioning. For the comfort and convenience of the rear passengers, the Genesis offers center armrest with dual cup holders and center console with remote control to access multimedia features in the car. Other convenience features fitted into the Genesis as standard include the Smart Trunk system and Puddle lights.

The Genesis is also instilled the latest equipment such as an 8-inch touchscreeen, HUD (Head-up Display) and the Lexicon Discrete Logic 7 Surround Audio System with 14 speakers, Logic 7 Surround Sound processing and 12-channel digital amplifier with 900-watts of equivalent output.  The audio system includes HD Radio and iPod/USB auxiliary media input jacks. With sound-absorbing materials and additional insulation fitted to the cabin, booming and vibration as well as audible noise is very much reduced resulting in a quiet cabin. Fruit for thought, the Genesis comes with a CO2 Cabin Sensor, which helps to improve air circulation and prevent the driver from drowsiness.

The Hyundai Genesis takes up a 3.8-liter V6 GDI engine that’s paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission for an unprecedented 315 PS and 397 Nm or torque. The Genesis generates a high torque of 397nm even at the low RPM ranges of 5,000rpm, significantly increasing performance and reaction capabilities even at speeds of 80 to 120km/h. The large sedan is capable of pulling off a 0 – 100km/h sprint in 6.5 seconds.

Armed with the Multi-Link Suspension and application of various advanced technologies, the new Genesis offers top-class driving and ride & handling performances. The included technologies comprises an increase to the rear lateral stiffness and the inclusion of a Rack-mounted Motor Driven Electric Power Steering with a variable gear ratio. On top of that, the Genesis is built with even more advanced high-strength steel, now over 50 percent of total platform composition that offers 16 percent stiffer torsional rigidity and 40 percent stiffer bending rigidity as compared with the first-generation architecture. As a result, the new Genesis is stiffer in both torsional and bending rigidity; which ultimately leads to better handling and stability.

Safety features are key aspects of the new Hyundai Genesis, with the inclusion of the 360-degree Around View Monitoring System (AVM), paired with the Smart Parking Assist system. This latest system does not only provide visual information surrounding the car but it also reveals blind spots of every side of the vehicle. The Smart Parking System on the other hand, controls steering to support precise and quick parking. To increase awareness on the road, the Genesis employs a radar system called the Blind Spot Detection (BSD) to detect objects in the driver’s blind spot or in the rear cross path. Another smart safety feature that comes with the Genesis is the Smart Cruise Control. This feature enables the Genesis to help maintain safer, consistent spacing with the vehicle ahead in varied traffic conditions.

In addition, the Genesis has these customary safety features: ABS with Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) with ESC and Traction Control, Hill-start Assist, nine airbags, pre-safe belt and anti-whiplash front head restraints.

The new Hyundai Genesis is offered in three specially selected body hues Marble White, Platinum Silver and Onyx Black, along with two interior color trims: Beige Two-Tone and Black One-Tone. The price of the new Hyundai Genesis is listed at RM 399,888 on-the-road with insurance. The Genesis package includes 8 years/300k warranty on powertrain, 5 years/100k service warranty, 24-hour roadside assist and a 2-year Leader membership. The Leader memberships entitle many VIP privileges such as a complimentary access to the Plaza Premium Lounge at selected major airports in the country, complimentary chauffeur driven ride to or from KLIA, KLIA2 or Subang Skypark, Personalized services, Priority services, access to exclusive VIP lounge at selected showrooms, and four complimentary chauffeur service passes (for travel within the Klang Valley), plus four airport premier lounge passes (at selected major airports in the country).
