Aston Martin, the car that is synonymous with James Bond, will take to the race tracks of Asia in 2008 for the marque’s’ first ever one-make series.
The Aston Martin Asia Cup, featuring the stunning 4.3 litre, 410hp V8-engined Vantage N24 will run in a championship consisting of seven race meetings. Its first season will include 11 to 12 events including both double-header sprint races and longer endurance events.
With the prize for the winner a fully-sponsored season in an N24 in the prestigious FIA GT4 season, the series is expected to attract a stellar line-up of the region’s top sportscar racers.
Competitors entering the Aston Martin Asia Cup will receive an unrivalled service package providing them all with the same technical race service, a comprehensive spare parts package, engineers and technicians, logistics, hospitality, accommodation, and race entry.
The series is organised by Aston Martin Racing, bringing its wealth of experience in international motorsport at the highest levels. Series Director Ian Ross Geekie, a successful team manager and driver, has been a leading figure in the development of many successful series in the past decade. Based on FIA GT4 regulations, the Aston Martin N24 Vantage GT Racing car has a front wheel-mounted longitudinal V8 engine with a six-speed rear trans-axle and rear wheel drive.
As well as providing myriad opportunities for corporate hospitality, the Aston Martin Asia Cup will receive massive television coverage, particularly in China, through its association with Auto Media China. The company will broadcast in China on its own Auto TV Channel, as well as syndicate programming to a multitude of outlets across the globe.

The first Aston Martin was registered the following year, with the first works competition car making its debut in 1921.
