|BMW takes to the stand at the 16th Auto Shanghai in China from 22 – 29 April with one world premiere, four Asian premieres and two Chinese premieres. Held every other year since 1985, Auto Shanghai ranks as one of Asia’s leading motor shows.|
Celebrating its world premiere is the BMW X5 xDrive40e Sports Activity Vehicle, the first plug-in hybrid production model from the BMW core brand. The BMW X5 xDrive40e SAV features permanent all-wheel drive and the BMW EfficientDynamics eDrive technology, which translate to exceptional handling and outstanding efficiency.
With a total system output of 230 kW/313 hp generated by a twin-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine and a synchronous electric motor, the BMW X5 xDrive40e achieves a combined fuel consumption of 3.4 – 3.3 liters per 100 kilometers and a combined electricity consumption of 15.4 – 15.3 kWh over the same distance. CO2 emissions come in at 78 – 77 grams per kilometer.
The new BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer marks its Asian premiere as the first premium variant in its segment to offer maximum variability and room for up to seven people. Alongside the 2 Series GT, the BMW 1 Series is also making its first appearance in the region in a new edition that is even more expressive, sporting and efficiency-minded.
Next up, the Chinese premieres for the BMW 6 Series Convertible, BMW 6 Series Coupe and the new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe range, which include the BMW M6 Coupe and BMW M6 Gran Coupe.
When it comes to innovative infotainment and online services, BMW is by far one of the most intuitive car makers in the world. At the Auto Shanghai, BMW i presents innovative services under the banner of BMW 360° Electric, namely ChargeNow and Second Life batteries. New services and apps for the Chinese market come courtesy of BMW ConnectedDrive, which now offers the Concierge Service, the ConnectedDrive Store, the BMW Social App, the Ximalaya audio streaming service and the Xiami music download service.
Finally, there are two BMW Motorrads premiering in the region for the first time at Auto Shanghai: the new BMW R 1200 R and BMW S 1000 RR.
