New Citroën C3 R5 set to debut at WRC2 Tour de Corse

 

  Just a few days before its homologation and its competition debut, the Citroën C3 R5 is the focus of attention as it is the main novelty of the 2018 season. From the Tour de Corse onwards, PH Sport will run Stéphane Lefebvre’s car as part of the Citroën Racing works program in WRC2. Other C3 R5s will then be available for rent to privateer drivers who want to race in the latest car from the French make.

Ogier overcomes odds to emerge the victor at WRC Rally Mexico

  Last weekend’s WRC Rally Mexico, Round 3 of the Championship, saw 5-time Champion Sebastien Ogier take victory, ahead of Hyundai’s Dani Sordo and Citroen’s Kris Meeke. The rally also witnessed the return of 9-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb, who made a guest appearance, driving a C3 WRC. For Ogier, it was his second victory in just three events as he sprung up to the head of the Drivers’ standings with 60 points from Hyundai’s lead man Theirry Neuville.

The WRC Rally Swedeb saw Hyundai WRT’s Theirry Neuville take his first win of the season. Neuville won by 19.8 seconds over Citroën’s Craig Breen with fellow i20 WRC driver Andreas Mikkelsen finishing third; a Hyundai 1 – 3 finish.

Ogier leads all after WRC Rally Monte Carlo first leg

  It’s the season-opener of the World Rally Championship (WRC) in the Principality. Monte Carlo traditionally kicks off the first event of the year in the WRC. Following the shakedown or ceremonial start, the crews quickly swing to the first leg where 5-time WRC Champion Sébastien Ogier recovered from a spin on the opening stage on Thursday night to secure a handy 17.3 seconds lead heading into day two. A number of his rivals weren’t quite so lucky as patches of black ice and snow shook up the early leaderboard.
