|Continental Tyre Malaysia last week launched the Conti60° Fleet Services tyre management system for trucks. The Conti360° Fleet Services are a modular system which covers all tyre-related services for transport operators. The Fleet program is aimed to assist transport operators in reducing operating costs and improving cost control.|
The Conti360° Fleet services consist of the ContiFitmentService, ContiFleetCheck, ContiFleetReporting, ContiCasingManagement and ContiBreakdownService, as well as the ContiLifeCycle. These services are meant to offer affordable and reliable tyre services in selected States of the country: Kedah, Penang, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor/Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan, Malacca and Johor. In the near future, the Conti360° Fleet services would expand to East Malaysian States of Sarawak and Sabah.
At a typical Conti360° Fleet services outlet, tyre will be shearograph to discover any anomalies, then Continental tyres personnel will skive the tyre surface and perform repair on the inside of the particular tyre. Thereafter, the tyre will go through the envelopmatic process and stringent final inspection.
The Conti360° -ed tyres will then be primed for installation to the required vehicle, thanks to the ContiLifeCycle. From new tyres, casing-management to retreading, ContiLifeCycle offers a tailor-made solution to achieve the lowest overall driving costs, as well as ensuring a longer lasting duration of the tyre. The Fleet Services apply to current Continental truck, commercial tyres, which included the all-new Hybrid-line: HS Hybrid, HD Hybrid axle tyres and Construction range.
Once the new tyres have ran their first life cycle, the ContiCasingManagement would take over. This module handles pick-up, inspection and return of worn out tyres for retreading or recycling at the end of their primary life. The retreading of all usable casings is done through Continental’s premium retread process at the recently upgraded ContiTread plant in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. After the inspection procedure casings are buffed and prepared for the application of the ContiTread liners. All ContiTread liners have the same pattern and material characteristic as the new tyres. After curing and final inspection the ContiTread tyre is handed back to the customer to safely operate in its 2nd life.

Part of the Conti360° Fleet Services is the ContiBreakdownService. This service allows customers to keep breakdown-related downtimes to a minimal. This service is available around the clock, 365 days a year, and has an immediate assist call number.
Finally, the ContiFleetCheck takes care of regular checks of inflation pressure and tyre condition. This service ensures that the tyre is well maintained to regulate fuel efficient, minimize breakdown and expand the use of the tyre. And with the ContiFleetReporting, the customer gets a detailed overview of the tyre conditions of his fleets and is able to identify improvement areas.
