Hyundai Elantra goes through a timely update for the year

 2015 Honda Elantra FL Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors has announced the facelifed (FL) Hyundai Elantra, a step up of the previous edition. The FL Elantra is now a more desirable C-segment in Hyundai’s line-up, with up to fourteen added features and upgrades.

The 2015 Hyundai Elantra exterior receives minor touches to relay a sharper outlook, along with slightly enlarged dimensions. Overall dimensions see a lengthen Elantra at 4,500 mm, 20mm more than the previous edition, and similar wheelbase measurement. The front and rear bumpers have been increase by 5 and 15 mm respectively. The front bumper has a revised design to pair exceptionally well with the radiator grille, fog light and the new LED Light Guide and Projection headlights (Premium versions only).

2015 Hyundai Elantra maintains a well-toned and dynamic outlook

Profile-wise, the deep-etched shoulder line gives the car a well-toned appearance. At the rear, the recognizable sculpted rear and redesigned combination lights have been retained for a dynamic look from behind. Lastly, the reworked alloy wheels and tyres come in 16-inch or 205/55R16 sizes. The Elantra 1.8 Premium comes with 17-inch wheels or 215/45R17 tyres.

Improvements are reflected in the interior of the car with the introduction of several new advanced features. Noticeable improvements include the relocation of the air-conditioning vents, new Transmission Gear Shift (TGS) Gear Knob, Flex Steer System on the steering with drive mode selector (normal, comfort or sports mode), Rear Air-conditioning vents, MirrorLink Audio Visual Receiver and the Supervision Cluster with 3.4-inch OLED display (Premium versions only). Both the Mirrorlink and Supervision cluster are available in the Elantra 1.6 and 1.8 Premium only.

The FL Hyundai Elantra maintains the same powerplant with a choice of two engines, Nu D-VVT 1.8-liter MPI and Gamma 1.6-liter MPI D-CVVT. Output and torque ratings remain similar to its predecessor.

The 2015 Hyundai Elantra features the latest active and passive safety technologies to ensure maximum protection for its occupants such as Ultra-high Tensile Strength body, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) and HAC (Hill-Start Assist Control); standard for all versions. The 1.6 and 1.8 Premium variants come with six airbags, while the Elegance and Executive versions come with 2 airbags.

For a limited period from now till 5 April, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors is offering a complimentary 3-year or 60,000 km warranty, eligible for the Elantra 1.8 Premium. Color options for the FL Elantra are Creamy White, Carbon Grey, Phantom Black, Sleek Silver and Tomato Red. Prices for the FL Hyundai Elantra are 1.6 Elegance at RM 85,888, 1.6 Executive at RM 95,676, 1.6 Premium at 100,546 and 1.8 Premium at RM 114,984.40.
