DTM Round 2 at a new Lausitzring track

Before the drivers even got a chance to take a breather, the DTM round 2 at Lausitzring already beckons, this weekend. This weekend, round two of the DTM sees the Lausitzring host races three and four of the year on the 4.570-kilometer circuit. This new layout is technically demanding, while the smooth and fine-pored asphalt offers little grip. With 14 corners and only a few straights, the race tyres must provide plenty of traction in the winding sections, as the aerodynamic downforce generated by the DTM cars was reduced by one third at the start of the season.

Wehrlein races to first DTM win; Wittman clinches crown

  The third to last DTM race at the Lausitzring saw the incredible Marco Wittman take the Drivers crown after a sixth place finish. The DTM Lausitzring was won by countryman Pascal Wehrlein in the Mercedes C-Coupe, with fellow Mercedes DTM driver Christian Vietoris in second and Audi’s Timo Scheider third.

  The third-to-last DTM race of the season is scheduled for the weekend at the Lausitzring. This weekend’s race marks the 16th DTM race at the Lausitzring and is the eighth round of ten rounds this season. The track is 3.478 kilometers in length and is driven in a counter-clockwise direction. In addition to a long home straight, it is also characterized by a technically demanding infield with a sequence of slow corners and chicanes. The race is contested over 52 laps, equivalent to an overall distance of 180.856 km.

Gary Paffett storms to 1st victory of the season at DTM Lausitz

 2013 DTM Lausitz Gary Paffett at finish line The fourth round of the Deutschen Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) at Lausitzring was the first venue where Mercedes-Benz drivers took an emphatic charge with Gary Paffett’s all-conquering victory and Christian Vietoris’ third and Robert Wickens’ fourth places. Paffett’s first win of the season and 20th in the DTM makes him the third most successful DTM driver after Bernd Schneider (43 wins) and Klaus Ludwig (36 wins). Six Mercedes-Benz drivers finished in the points at the DTM Lausitz weekend.
