Mortara and Wittman share wins at DTM Nurburgring

 2016 DTM Nurburgring Mortara wins race 2 The DTM Nurburgring saw BMW’s Marco Wittman capture the win in the opening race to extend his lead in the Drivers’ standings. Wittman took a light-to-flag victory in the 30-lap opening bout by a margin of 7.136 seconds from his fellow BMW driver Tom Blomqvist. Audi’s Edoardo Mortara took the main race victory, ahead of Mercedes driver Lucas Auer.

 2016 DTM  Hockenheim race start Only three more race weekends until the new DTM champion is crowned. This weekend at the Nürburgring, BMW DTM, Audi DTM and Mercedes-AMG DTM enter the final stage of the championship battle. The balance of power between the three manufacturers involved in DTM remains extremely close: the top-three positions in the drivers’ championship currently are held by Marco Wittmann (BMW, 130 points), Robert Wickens (Mercedes-AMG, 118) and Jamie Green (Audi, 104).

DTM: Ekstrom secures first win for Audi as BMW claims more titles

  The penultimate race of the Deutschen Tourenwagen Masters at Zandvoort saw veteran DTM driver Mattias Ekstrom capture the first victory for Audi this season. Ekstrom’s win came in the nick of time, although the Championship scenario had already gone BMW’s way when Marco Wittman was declared the Drivers’ Champion last time out. Wittman incidentally finished a strong second at Zandvoort, followed by team mate Martin Tomczyk. It was Tomczyk first podium since August 2012. BMW also notched up the Teams’ title in the process, while Maxime Martin took up the best Rookies trophy.

Wehrlein races to first DTM win; Wittman clinches crown

  The third to last DTM race at the Lausitzring saw the incredible Marco Wittman take the Drivers crown after a sixth place finish. The DTM Lausitzring was won by countryman Pascal Wehrlein in the Mercedes C-Coupe, with fellow Mercedes DTM driver Christian Vietoris in second and Audi’s Timo Scheider third.

DTM crews face third-to-last race at Lausitzring this weekend

  The third-to-last DTM race of the season is scheduled for the weekend at the Lausitzring. This weekend’s race marks the 16th DTM race at the Lausitzring and is the eighth round of ten rounds this season. The track is 3.478 kilometers in length and is driven in a counter-clockwise direction. In addition to a long home straight, it is also characterized by a technically demanding infield with a sequence of slow corners and chicanes. The race is contested over 52 laps, equivalent to an overall distance of 180.856 km.

DTM Round 7 is set for an exciting race at the Nurburgring
