Mercedes-AMG F1 aim for Sixth Title with 2019 Challenger

Reigning Formula 1 Champions Mercedes-AMG F1 Team has introduced their 2019 Challenger at the Silverstone Circuit. The 2019 F1 W10 EQ Power+ in a new livery, signifying the brand’s tenth year in F1, took its first laps at the famous British track.

Four weeks until the start of the season, Lewish Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas shared driving duties to experience the new challenger for the firs time. The duo will hit the Circuit of Catalunya for the formal pre-season test to gauge a better understanding of the 2019 challenger.  Hamilton and the team have garnered five titles working together, and in the new season they are going for a sixth.  Hamilton will start his seventh year with the team in the new season. He has four titles, 52 race wins and 57 pole positions since 2013.

Hamilton said, “I’m really looking forward to the next step of our journey together with Mercedes. This is my seventh year with the team and the energy and the determination within the team are really inspiring. The buzz really starts at the beginning of the year when you see the car coming together. Driving the new car is like meeting someone new for the first time – you want to get to know them the best way as quick as possible as you embark on a journey together.”

Mercedes-AMG F1 W10 EQ Power+: New regulations means new elements

Compared to its predecessor, the Mercedes-AMG F1 W10 EQ Power+ has been changed substantially. The majority of those modifications were driven by the significant changes to the Technical Regulations for the 2019 F1 season. The car follows the regulations’ minimum weight limit, which has been lifted by by 10kg for 2019.  The team have removed ‘some’ to shave more weight. Obviously, focus were given to improve on aerodynamics, suspension and the Power Unit.  Other than that, the F1 W10 shares plenty of similarities to the F1 W09.

Mercedes’ EQ Power+

Aside from F1, Mercedes is partaking in the Formula E Championship, which hit its sixth season, as a newcomer.

The engine of the new challenger has changes made to the cooling architecture, along with bettering combustion efficiency and incorporating a more efficient ERS system. In a nutshell, the marriage between the turbocharger assembly with the MGU-H, the inverter, the cells and the MGU-K: that whole system is now capable of operating more efficiently and helping with energy deployment through a race.

Mercedes AMG F1 lands Tommy Hilfiger partnership; Renault

  Mercedes-AMG F1 has announced a partnership with big fashion staple Tommy Hilfiger for the 2018 F1 season and beyond. The tie-up is a multi-year strategic partnership with Tommy Hilfiger, owned by PVH Corp. Renault and BP strengthen ties in 2018, following a continuation press statement.

A year to remember for the Mercedes-AMG F1 Team

  At the FIA Prize Giving Gala, Mercedes- AMG F1 Team and Lewis Hamilton receive their trophies for the Formula One World Championships Constructors and Drivers’ titles. The team is already planning their famous Christmas party to celebrate a remarkable year and their four consecutive F1 crowns. Also at the FIA Prize giving on Sunday, the Mercedes-AMG F1 W08 EQ Power+ won the title “Racing Car of the Year” by Autosport.

Valtteri Bottas joins Mercedes-AMG F1 Team for 2017 season

Rossi and Ogier step up to the plate with Mercedes-AMG F1 Team

  Nine-time Champion Valentino Rossi and 4-time WRC Champion Sebastien Ogier were recently invited to perform a trial with Formula 1 champions Mercedes-AMG F1 Team. According to the team’s Executive Director Toto Wolff, the team plans to put the MotoGP legend and rally star behind the wheel of the dominating Mercedes F1 car for a test run, next season.

Rosberg gets the better of Hamilton at F1 Austrian GP

 2015 F1 Austrian GP Nico Rosberg leads Hamilton Nico Rosberg got the better of Lewis Hamilton at the Austrian Grand Prix in a lop-sided Formula One World Championships season. It was Rosberg’s third win of the year and 11th of his Formula One career. Hamilton who finished second completed another Mercedes 1 – 2 finish, this season. Third place was Felipe Masa, who made it an all Mercedes-powered cars podium. The Williams driver garnered only his first podium finish of the season.

Mercedes-Benz powers Race the Runway for the second year

  Mercedes-Benz is scheduled to participate in the upcoming Race the Runway, a charity drag race which contributes to Glasgow-based Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice. On 4 September, a Mercedes AMG Formula One racer and seven AMG performance cars will be accelerating hard down the auxiliary runway of the Edinburgh Airport.

Ricciardo breaks Mercedes’ grip with maiden win at F1 Canadian GP

  We finally have a winner other than the Mercedes AMG F1 Team at last weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix, Round 7 of the Formula One World Championships. Daniel Ricciardo got a thumping maiden victory at the Gilles Villeneuve track, finishing four seconds ahead of Nico Rosberg and a further second away from team mate Sebastien Vettel. Rosberg’s colleague Lewis Hamilton suffered a brake overheating and retired on the 46th lap.

Mercedes AMG F1 Team is upbeat about the new season, with its all-new F1 W05

  Mercedes AMG Formula 1 Team today presented its 2014 Challenger, the F1 W05, at the Jerez de la Frontera track. Mercedes claims that the F1 W05 is an all-new, developed from ground up F1 machine, since 1954.
