Toyota win WEC penultimate race in Shanghai; Porsche claim titles

  The penultimate round of the WEC (World Endurance Championship) in Shanghai was won by Toyota Racing in their desperate attempt to prolong the title fight into the finale, next up. However, Porsche no.2 car managed to finish runners up which was enough to lock on the Drivers and Manufacturers titles for the Stuttgart team. Porsche and the trio of Timo Bernhard, Earl Bamber and Brendon Hartley are WEC Champions this season.

Porsche pile up wins at WEC Round 6 at COTA

  Porsche has extended its WEC (World Endurance Championship) lead with a 1 – 2 finish at last weekend’s 6-hour race in Austin, Texas, U.S.A. The Porsche 919 Hybrid of Earl Bamber, Timo Bernhard and Brendon Hartley, the Le Mans winners, crossed the line first at the Circuit of The Americas, round six of the WEC. Team mate and reigning WEC champion Neel Jani, André Lotterer and Nick Tandy finished second to push Porsche further up in the manufacturers’ rankings over rivals Toyota Racing.

Porsche WEC scores home win at 6-hour Nurburgring

  The WEC (World Endurance Championship) 6-hour Nurburgring, the fourth round, saw Porsche WEC squad beat rivals Toyota Racing for top honors. It was a double podium 1-2 finish for Porsche and hattrick of wins (2015, 2016 and 2017) at the Nurburgring. In 2017, Timo Bernhard and Brendon Hartley were joined for the first time by Earl Bamber in winning Sunday’s race. It was the second race triumph for the Porsche LMP Team in 2017 and the 15th in total for the 919 Hybrid since its debut in 2014.

Toyota fastest in first qualifying for the Le Mans 24 Hours

  The 2017 Le Mans 24-Hour. the third round of the WEC (World Endurance Championship) has kicked started on Wednesday with the first qualifying session. The first qualifiers saw Toyota Racing picked up pole position, courtesy of its Japanese driver Kamui Kobayashi. Toyota Racing aims for its very first Le Mans title, against rival Porsche Motorsport, this weekend. The first qualifiers was shortened by 20 minutes.

Porsche Motorsport eye repeat Le Mans 24-Hour title

  This weekend’s Le Mans 24-Hour sees Reigning Champion Porsche Motorsport try to defend their crown at the world’s toughest endurance race. For a third consecutive year, Porsche will face their toughest opponent, Toyota Racing, for the overall title. The Japanese manufacturer has yet to win Le Mans. In 2016, Toyota retired in a dramatic finish just minutes before the end of the race with a technical failure and in 2017 competes with three cars against the two Porsche 919 Hybrid in the top LMP1-H class.

Audi WEC holds front-row in qualifying for season-opener at Silverstone

2016 WEC Silverstone Audi R18 car no.7 The season-opener of the 2016 WEC (World Endurance Championship) is in full effect this weekend with the likes of Porsche, Audi and Toyota dueling for the titles. Qualifiers for the first 6-hour race at Silverstone saw Audi take command of pole position, thanks to the R18 car no.7 of Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer and Benoît Tréluyer, who set the fastest time.
