MotoGP resumes second half of season at Spielberg

 2016 MotoGP Mugello Jorge Lorenzo start of race Following the break, MotoGP resumes at the Red Bull Ring (Spielberg) Circuit for Round 10 of the Championship this weekend. The Spielberg track will host its first MotoGP Grand Prix after a 19- year hiatus. The Austrian GP marks a busy second half of the season with eight races in 12 weeks before the season finale in Valencia. Twice MotoGP champion Marc Marquez currently leads the Riders’ Standings, followed by the two Yamaha factory riders and Marquez’s team mate Dani Pedrosa in fourth.

BMW DTM drivers dominate Spielberg races

2016 DTM Spieberg Timo Glock takes race 2 For the third time in his career, Timo Glock was able to celebrate on the top step of the podium: in Sunday’s second DTM race at Spielberg in Austria, the BMW driver emerged as the winner. After 42 laps of the 4.326 kilometers long Red Bull Ring, Glock won from the two Audi drivers Mattias Ekström and Jamie Green, who finished second and third respectively. Daniel Juncadella was the best-placed Mercedes-Benz driver, in twelfth overall.

 2015 DTM Spielberg Mattias Ekstrom crosses finish line Although rain hampered one of the DTM Rounds at Spielberg’s Red Bull Ring, Audi drivers Edoardo Mortara and veteran Mattias Ekstrom came through with a victory each in round 9 and 10, respectively. The DTM at Spielberg incidentally marks the start of the mid-point of the current season.

BMW drivers sweep podium spots at DTM Spielberg

  The DTM Round 6 at Spielberg saw BMW drivers claim the top four positions in a rather one-sided race. Current Drivers’ Championship leader Marco Wittmann, at the wheel of the Ice-Watch BMW M4 DTM, clinched his third win of the season at the 4.326-kilometer circuit. Second through fourth places were Augusto Farfus, Timo Glock and Martin Tomczyk.

Motorsports / DTM: german touring cars championship 2013 The Deutschen Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) goes into the fourth race of the season at the Lausitzring, Deutschland on the weekend of 15 – 16 June. The 3.478 kilometers Lausitzring is situated between the cities of Dresden and Berlin. The track is run in an anti-clockwise direction and features an unusually long straight, slow infield corners and chicanes. There are 52 laps which corresponds to a total distance of 180.865 km.

 2013 DTM Spielberg Bruno Spengler 1st victory of season Reigning DTM Champion Bruno Spengler finally got his first victory of the season at the fourth DTM race at Spielberg’s Red Bull Ring. Not only did Spengler claimed his maiden victory this season, but Spengler and team mates Marco Wittman and Timo Glock’s second and third places marked the first BMW clean-sweep since the 2012 return.

DTM Round 4: Audi breaks win dreadlock at Spielberg

 dtm-4-audi-breaks-win-dreadlock-spielberg  The Deutschen Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) race at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria witnessed the first triumph for Audi and Eduardo Mortara in an A5 DTM. The fourth round of the German touring cars series also signified that Audi has broken the victory dreadlock against rivals Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Adding icing to the Spielberg event, as many as five Audi A5s were listed as the top ten finishers at the Ring: Mortara, as well as Mattias Ekstrom, Timo Scheider, Mike Rockenfeller and Filipe Albuquerque.
