The Formula Drift 2010 is heading into its 7th year of intense action and competition with more entrants and drift machines that'll fill your most inner desires for pure drift performance.

It will begin at the Grand Prix of Long Beach Street Course on 9 - 10 April. Thereafter, the annual Team Drift event will follow on April 16-18.

Formula Drfit, of course, is recognized as the North American professional drifting championship series. The series has gone international and is making headlines in Asia with popular drift events such as Formula Drift Singapore, Formula Drift Thailand and Formula Drift Malaysia. In addition, it has taken competitive motorsports to the extreme attracting fans and car enthusiasts from all walks of life and establishes itself as the world-wide leader for the sport.

This high-skilled, high-powered motor sport where drivers intentionally maneuver their cars into well executed, controlled sideways slides at high speeds through a marked course, has more than 60 professional drivers competing in all seven pro competitions this year in the United States.

Judged on execution and style, rather than who finishes the course in the fastest time, Drifting is a guaranteed crowd pleaser, and is often compared to the freestyle nature of skateboarding and motocross.

Competitors participating in the first round at Long Beach will be utilizing Turns 9, 10, and 11 of the Street Course for a high-speed entry and very tight spacing between the cars and walls, therefore there is no room for mistakes, making the opening round one of the most exciting drift events of the year.

'09 Champion Chris Forsberg will be back to defend his title against all competitors including 2-time champions Tanner Foust and Samuel Hubinette along with Vaughn Gittin Jr., Ryan Tuerck, Tyler McQuarrie, Rhys Millen, and the rest of the talented pool of drivers.
