CONTINENTAL INTRODUCES THE NEW COMFORTCONTACT CC5 TYRE

Continental Sime Tyre (CST) has been in the automotive news of late with its teaser campaign of a black stallion culminating in a message that conveys Continental tyres engineered in Germany.
The Stallion campaign led to the introduction of Continental’s latest ContiComfortContact CC5 passenger car tyre, replacing the previous ContiComfortContact CC1. This is also the first ever tyre that is engineered in Germany specifically for the Asian motorists.
The tyre has been designed to lower the noise to amplify motorists’ driving pleasure through the ‘noise breaker’ from Continental’s Silent Tread Pattern Groove Technology whereby it breaks air-waves in the longitudinal grooves thus reducing noise without compromising other performances.
Dr. Erhard Barho (above left), Director of R&D Asia Pacific, commented, “The CC5 is capable of improving a vehicle’s fuel efficiency by as much as 10% compared to the CC1. We have lab tested and performed a series of stringent tests to ensure that the results were most desirable for motorists.”
In addition, the CC5 is incorporated with the V-shaped sipes inner ribs, enabling smooth rolling throughout the tyre circumferential thus having an optimum driving comfort, coupled with optimum safety performance. While, the advanced silica compound technology would minimize rolling resistance forces for better fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions.
In all, customers can expect comfortable ride with the CC5s be it in dry or wet conditions, thanks to entangled lateral shoulder grooves feature which reduces noise levels drastically, the optimized compound stiffness that ensures traction out and comfort inside, and fuel saving properties with the advanced silica compound.
Produced at the CST plant in Alor Star, Kedah, the CC5 will be exported to Asian and Oceania countries such as; Thailand, Taiwan and Australia.
The CC5 is reasonably priced from RM 190 to RM500 and above, depending on car variants.
