CHEVROLET CRUZE INCREASES WORLDWIDE SALES FOR GM

Chevrolet Cruze is making a headway in the automotive world with its latest worldwide sales figures. The variant which was introduced in Malaysia this June has had an encouraging response amongst Malaysian motorists as well as rave reviews in the media. 

In Malaysia, some 150 units of the Cruze were snapped up with-in a month of launch and Pavilion Crest SB, Chevrolet distributors in Malaysia, has been actively marketing the variant at the forefront of its current line-ups.

The updated global sales figure shows that the Cruze has risen on an average of 18 percent per month. On a global basis, customers have purchased 140,000 Cruzes in the first six months of 2010 and a total of 270,000 since the vehicle’s launch in Europe last year. GM is now gearing up for the Cruze’s market introduction in the United States in September. Production of the cars will be carried out at GM’s assembly plant in Lordstown, Ohio. The car will be the only compact car built in the U.S. for the 2011 model year.
 
The Cruze is currently available in more than 60 countries. The top five markets are China, Russia, Mexico, India and Spain. Including Holden and GM Daewoo versions sold in Australia and South Korea, total sales exceed 340,000 vehicles across five continents.
