BERMAZ MOTOR TO INITIATE SERVICE CAMPAIGN IN WAKE OF MAZDA RECALL

Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd., the official distributors of Mazda vehicles in Malaysia, has released a statement on the recent Mazda cars recall in the Americas.
In U.S market, Mazda is conducting a recall on Mazda3 2.0L and Mazda 5 cars manufactured from 1 April 2007 to 30 November 2008. However, the current (new) Mazda3 Sports and other Mazda models are not affected.

Bermaz Motor has assured that the recall is not necessary for Malaysia as there has not been any safety related occurrences to date. There may however be some isolated cases, when drivers may experience heaviness in the steering system. When this happens, the driver can still steer the car with a little more effort.
Bermaz Motor has also acknowledged that the recent press release by Mazda Corporation to 'Recall' cars in the USA may cause anxiety for some Mazda owners. Recognizing the safety factor and to give assurance to the Mazda owners and customers, Bermaz Motor will initiate a service campaign to check all Mazda3 and Mazda5 sold between 1 May 2007 - 30 December 2008.
