Next Bikes (Ducati) Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the Naza Group of Companies, today announced their intentions to host the first ever Asia Ducati Week (ADW) 2010, emulating the highly successful World Ducati Week.  The World Ducati Week (WDW) is a once every three-year event held at the Misano Circuit in Italy, and at this year's WDW, some 60,000 motorcyclists from 28 countries turned up in force to support the one-of-a-kind motorcycle event.

Malaysia's capital city Kuala Lumpur has been chosen as an alternative venue by Ducati Asia Pacific to further reach out to an array of motorcyclists from Asian countries and boost the marque's brand appeal. Malaysia was chosen by means of good geographical location and easy access to the region's Ducatisti. Furthermore, the ADW takes advantage of the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) which is scheduled from  8 - 10 October at the Sepang International Circuit. Though the ADW will be a five-day affair from 8 - 12 October, the highlights are indefinite for Ducati bikers and enthusiasts during the MotoGP weekend.

Thirteen nations from Asia Pacific and nine other participating countries will conjure in Kuala Lumpur during the ADW to enjoy and celebrate the red planet of Ducati and the MotoGP race at Sepang on the stipulated date. Fans and bikers will get 5 days of non-stop activities such as; street parties in exclusive Ducati Zone, City Tours, organized riding training and much more. For those interested to catch the MotoGP race, special ticket packages are also available for Ducatisti to cheer on Ducati MotoGP riders Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden over the race weekend.

Next Bikes also the sole distributors of Ducati bikes in Malaysia is fully initiating the ADW to address lack of activities for motorcycle enthusiasts and ardent bikers in the country. In addition, the company stresses that the lack of riding culture and the missing link of a bike lover community as some of the reasons for bringing together a huge event like the ADW to encourage and broaden bikers' prospectives.

In the run-up to the ADW, Naza Group of Companies' Dato' Zulkifli S.M. Amin commented, "The main event will be held in conjunction with the Malaysian round of the MotoGP weekend. This MotoGP experience is expected to be followed by a 2-day Ducati riding experience. As for the overall Asia Ducati Week initiative, Next Bikes hope to secure a platform to accelerate market growth in the domestic region and provide Ducati owners' more special value-added activities."

"Owning a Ducati is indeed like a dream. It is the ultimate motorcycle and the ownership experience is not just about the bike, but it extends to the whole lifestyle of the marque's loud experience; sportiness, exuberance and total excitement," he added.

The ADW culminates with the Ducati Riding Experience which will be fully conducted by Ducati trainers and supervised by Ducati Motor Holding. Registered participants will get an opportunity of a lifetime to ride on a race track and at the same time improve on riding skills through three specialized categories; basic, intermediate and advanced. Additionally, Troy Bayliss, perennial World Superbike champion and winner of 52 WSBK races, will be on hand to show participants the ropes at the Riding Experience Asia event.

An extravagant Ducati gala dinner will be the pinnacle of the ADW 2010 where Ducati owners or Ducatisti get more opportunity to mingle with Ducati lovers from all over the world and share knowledge with Ducati Motor Holding's personnel
